Once you have booked an appointment with Open Nutrition, we will send you a health questionnaire. This provides an opportunity for you to highlight your health goals and outlines information regarding health history, food preferences and a three day food diary. This allows us to get a full picture of you as an individual and also to prepare for a consultation specific to you and your goals.
During an initial consultation, the format will loosely consist of three elements depending upon the information provided in your questionnaire. Your consultation will last 75 minutes in total and will involve information gathering, discussion of possible interactions or triggers, and recommendations. Nutritional therapy consultations are client-led which means that you will have a say in the way the meeting is carried out, therefore you will also have ample opportunity to ask any questions or voice concerns.
After the consultation, you and your therapist will have agreed on various targets to incorporate into your day-to-day life. Depending upon the health goals and targets, a follow-up consultation may be recommended usually between 4 to 8 weeks later to see how you’re getting on, at this time we can adjust your programme if needed.
When attending an initial consultation, you do not need to bring anything with you. Some people choose to bring a pen and paper to take notes, however full notes are provided for you so that you don’t have to worry about memorising any advice. Sometimes it is helpful to bring any medication or supplements that you currently take however all relevant information should already be included within the Health Questionnaire.
By the end of an initial consultation, you will be provided with:
Evaluation of health questionnaire and analysis of food diary, consultation, preparation of supplement programme or functional testing if applicable.
Analysis of functional tests, nutritional programme and supplement programme, consultation, alterations to programme where appropriate.
If paying by Credit or Debit card after your consultation, we will accept payment via an iZettle card reader. Quick, mobile & simple!
